Individual Therapy

When beginning it is important to develop a shard understanding of what has brought you to counselling. With this shared understanding we will develop a therapeutic focus for what you would like to work on and how we might work on this together. This is constantly updated as the work progresses and your understanding deepens.

Important to this is the bond that helps guide the exploration and therapeutic work.  This involves a sense of feeling understood and accepted as I am. The cornerstone of successful counselling lies in a strong, supportive alliance where you can openly discuss challenging or unwanted feelings and experiences while receiving respect and empathy.

After establishing goals and solidified our bond we then enter the active, working phase of therapy performing in-session tasks and guided explorations designed to delve deeper into your concerns. As we uncover more layers of your experiences, we’ll introduce proactive interventions when necessary.

Effective therapy helps discover the personal meaning behind symptoms to not only reduce their severity but to help cultivate new and enriching ways of connecting with the world and yourself.
